Fitting Exercise Into Your Summer Holiday

This one is for those of you on your summer holidays right now, who still want to workout, but don’t know how they’re going to do it. You’re probably having a 4/6 week long holiday and that’s too long to stay away without exercising, but you also don’t want to fit in mats, ropes and other equipment into your luggage.

Well here’s how you can maximize your holiday to workout, without feeling like you’re doing too much work.

  • Walking; I probably advocate too much for walking, but that’s possibly because of how effective it is. If you’re on a vacation, chances are that you want to look around the city where you are, which is also a perfect opportunity to fit in some exercise. Just walking around a few sites can give you a good 10k to 15k steps daily, which over a period of time can allow you loose significant amount of weight, as well as maintain your weight if that is all you’re looking for.
  • Active Groups; most resorts will have arrangements for fitness groups. You’ll likely see groups of people doing cardio, yoga and other forms of exercise. Find a group that does something exciting that you love, and join in the fun. It’ll help you get in your exercise without feeling like you’re doing too much.
  • Hiking; call it another form of walking, but this is one exercise that will bring you so much results in a short amount of time. Hiking will help increase your heart rate, burn some healthy sweat and seeing the mostly scenic views at the top of hills will be an additional benefit.

Don’t let a holiday keep you from reaching the goals you have set for yourself.

There you have it, these are tips to help you lose the weight and still have some summer fun.
