Staying Motivated During Weightloss

Losing weight can be quite a struggle and it’s easy to get discouraged and want to give up, so that’s why it’s important to take steps to make sure that you’re constantly motivated and pushing your goals.

If you’re going on your weightloss journey alone and you don’t have any support system, it makes the journey even two times harder so it’s important to have people or systems that cheer you on and route for your success, so that’s it’s a little easier for you.

So here are a few tips to help you stay motivated as you lose weight.

  1. Have a support system: this can be your family, friends, a paid program or an app but make sure that you have someone in your corner and cheering you on as you pursue your fitness goals.
  2. Know your why: why are you losing weight? Do you want to be 60 and still dancing or you want to be Snatched for your wedding? Know why you’re losing weight and let that be your motivation to keep going after your goals.
  3. Use visual reminders: let’s face it, you’re more likely to workout if it looks appealing so don’t use black and white markers or papers to write your fitness goals. Make your goals and calendar as colorful and visual as possible. Use sticky notes on your fridge to remind you to eat clean, use a ringtone you like to remind you to workout. By all means, make your reminders something you look forward to.
  4. Do what you enjoy: I know that different people will come with different exercises which they will call the best ways to lose weight but do what you enjoy. If for you that’s skipping, then skip, if it’s taking long walks then by l means walk but make sure you’re doing what you enjoy and not just what others seem to be doing.
