How To Avoid The Weekend Binge

So we have all been there. You work really hard during the week, you lift your weights, do your cardio and generally do your best to eat clean.

It just seems though that once the clock hits 6pm on Friday, all our fitfam manners fly out the window and we’re eating much more than we should, undoing all the hardwork of the week.

It doesn’t help that there are so many parties to be attended and outings with friends who are you probably not on the same healthy journey as we are.

The question then becomes, how can can I avoid the weekend binge? How can I extend my clean eating and workout habits to the weekend as well?

I don’t have all the answers, but I definitely have some tips that can help you, as you make a decision to avoid the weekend binge, this weekend.


Let’s get started shall we?

1) Apply the 80/20 rule; try to eat clean for 80% of the time and allow yourself to enjoy your favourite snacks and sweets for 20% of the time.

This way you have a taste of both worlds and have a better winning strategy.

2) Get Rid Of it; well truth be told, if you have bottles of alcohol,cans of ice cream and boxes of doughnuts lying around the house,the chances that you will eat them, gets higher. So do yourself a favor and get rid of them.

Only stock your fridge and home with healthy food.

3) Plan Ahead; if you’ll be attending an event or going out with friends, call the restaurant to check their menu for healthier options they may have.

In the case of the former, anticipate the event and the kind of food that will be served there, based on that, decide what you will have at that event.

4) Set Reminders; I will advice you to set reminders on your phone before the day to remind you not to eat too much, drink too much or any other thing you feel, you may need to check yourself for.

These tips are not by any means exhaustive but they are sure to help you survive the weekend binge.
