Meal Prep Like A Boss

Ladies!!!!

I am so excited about today’s blog. If you have followed me for a while, you already know my stance on meal prep and how I feel about it. I found out that most of my followers had reservations about meal prepping and I decided to bust all the myths and answer all the commonly asked questions, to aid you all in meal prepping like a boss.

Let’s tackle this first by outlining the reasons I actually like meal prepping. Number one, it’s a big time saver. I know so many people may not agree on this but think about it. If you used four hour to meal prep all the meals you and your family will consume for a week, for every meal that week which totals 21 meals, you will literally just grab and go. This is as opposed to first spending at least 15 minutes each meal time to decide what to cook and another 40 mins to 1 hour to actually cook the food, plus another 30 minutes cleaning up all the pots and kitchen ware that will be used each time, now multiply that by 21 times and tell me how much time you will save by meal prepping weekly.

Number 2 is that it keeps you on track. Honestly, after a long day of work, the last thing you will want to do is start cutting up four or five portions of different vegetables and grilling fish for dinner, so you find yourself either eating a whole box of cereals or any other food that seems more readily available. If you’re trying to switch to healthier eating for yourself and your family, meal prepping is one way to ensure you don’t fall off the bandwagon.

That said, let me move to the questions I frequently get asked about meal prepping.

  1. Don’t you get bored with eating the same food over and over again? No I don’t because I prep a variety of meals each week and if anything, it helps me and my family eat a wide variety instead of the same food everyday.
  2. Doesn’t the food get stale? No the food doesn’t get stale because the trick is to use plates that prevent moisture escape, use cling films to wrap vegetables and protein an also keep your fridge at a steady temperature.
  3. How don’t you get confused/keep organised when prepping so much? I use a list. I start by deciding what we are eating for that week, and making a variety of meals. I shop according to that list and as I begin cooking, I first put on the oven to grill all the grillables (that’s not a word.. haha), then I cut up all the veggies and go from there.

Those are the most popular questions I get for now. Feel free to email me if you have more questions, but I believe that I have made a strong case for meal prepping and how it actually saves time and makes you eat a more nutritious, balanced and variety of meals.

Enjoy a weekend of prepping and enjoying delicious meals ladies.
