She Lost 31kg as a Chef and Mother of Five
There are transformation stories that impress you. And then there are transformation stories that stop you completely. That makes you sit back and think about what is truly possible when a woman decides she has had enough and commits fully to changing her life.
Chef Flo’s story is the second kind.
A mother of five. A woman who spends her working life surrounded by food, cooking it, perfecting it, serving it. And she came to April Laugh Fitness carrying 31 kilograms that were not just affecting how she looked but how she lived.
Breathlessness that interrupted her work. Body pain that made the physical demands of her job increasingly difficult. A body that felt like it was working against her rather than with her.
Six months later, 31 kilograms gone. And a lifestyle that has never gone back.

Why Chef Flo started
She did not join the programme because she wanted to fit into a smaller dress size. She joined because her body was limiting her ability to do the work she loved.
As a chef, she is on her feet constantly. The physical demands of a professional kitchen are significant, the hours, the heat, the pace. And the breathlessness and body pain she was experiencing were beginning to make all of it harder than it needed to be.
She wanted her health and energy back. Her ability to show up fully for her work and for her five children without her body getting in the way.
That was her why. Clear, specific, and deeply personal. And as I always say, when your why is strong enough, it carries you through everything.
How she did it; food, workouts, and consistency
As a chef, her relationship with food is uniquely complex. She is surrounded by it professionally. She understands it deeply. And yet even with all that culinary knowledge, the programme taught her something that changed everything.
The difference between eating to nourish and eating emotionally.
Portion control became one of the most transformative and not a restriction tools on her journey. Just learning to eat in amounts that served her body rather than amounts driven by emotion, habit, or availability. As someone who works with food all day, that distinction was particularly powerful.
She followed the programme’s meal plans strictly and she did it consistently. Even while travelling. Even when her schedule was disrupted and the easy choice would have been to let the plan slide. She found a way to maintain her nutrition regardless of her circumstances.
And the workouts. Florence committed to the 5am sessions throughout her entire six-month journey. Every single day. Even on the road. Even when she was tired. Even when she was away from home and her normal routine had been completely disrupted.
That level of consistency, showing up at 5am, day after day, for six months is not about motivation. It is about decisions. She decided her health was non-negotiable. And she kept that decision every single morning.

The role of community and coaching
Florence is very clear about something when she talks about her journey. She did not do it alone.
The community inside April Laugh Fitness and the coaching team played a crucial role in keeping her accountable and motivated, particularly during the challenging moments that every journey has. The moments when life gets hard, when progress feels invisible, when old habits try to pull you back.
Having coaches who noticed. Having a community of women who were showing up every day. Knowing that she was expected, that people were watching for her, that if she went quiet someone would come looking. That accountability was not a burden. It was a lifeline.
And now, after her six-month programme concluded. Florence has built her own personal routine.
Chef Flo’s advice to every woman reading this
She said it simply and she said it clearly.
Start immediately. Do not wait for the perfect time, the perfect circumstances, the perfect version of your life. Start now in the imperfect, busy, complicated reality you are already living in.
Prioritise your health. Not as a luxury. Not as something you will get to eventually. As a non-negotiable, because every other area of your life is affected by how well you are taking care of your body.
And focus on consistency over perfection. Florence did not have a perfect six months. Nobody does. There were hard days. There were challenging moments. There were times when it would have been easier to stop.
She kept going anyway.
And that more than any meal plan or workout programme is what got her to 31 kilograms gone.
A final word
Florence is a chef who is surrounded by food every single day. She is a mother of five. She travels. She has a demanding professional life.
And she lost 31 kilograms in six months.
If she can do it, so can you.
The only question is whether you are ready to make the same commitment to yourself that Florence made to herself. To give your health six months of honest, consistent effort and trust the process long enough to see what it can create.
Your transformation is waiting. 💛
