The Habit Most Women Overlook on Their Weight Loss Journey
There is something I talk about that does not get nearly enough attention in the weight loss conversation.
So many women come to me wanting to lose weight, and we talk about workouts, meal plans, structure, accountability, all the things you would expect. But underneath all of that, there is something quieter. Something that determines how far any of it can actually take you.
What goes into your stomach. And how it got there.
Same meal. Completely different results.
Two women can eat the exact same meal, rice, chicken, vegetables and have completely different outcomes depending on how that meal was prepared.
Deep fried versus grilled or steamed. Drowning in oil versus cooked with intention. A portion that fills the plate versus a portion that actually fills you.
How you cook is just as important as what you cook.
I know deep frying tastes good. I know we grew up with certain cooking methods that feel like home, like comfort, like love. I am not telling you to throw all of that away or to never enjoy those meals again.
What I am saying is this. If your everyday cooking habits involve excessive oil, deep frying, and portions that go way beyond what your body needs, those habits are quietly working against every other effort you are making. Even the good ones.
Why you keep starting over every Monday
This is also the reason so many women find themselves back at square one every single week.
They eat well Monday through Friday. Then the weekend arrives, the cooking gets heavier, the portions get bigger, the oil comes out freely and by Monday morning they feel like they have undone everything and have to start all over again.
Not because they lack discipline. But because the daily cooking habits underneath it all were never actually addressed.
The workouts cannot outrun the kitchen. And the meal plan cannot help you if the way you are cooking those meals is adding far more than your body needs.

Three simple shifts to start this week
This is not about perfection. It is not about never enjoying a fried meal again. It is about your everyday habits and the ones repeated quietly, consistently, day after day.
Reduce the oil. You do not need a full cup of oil to cook your food.
A tablespoon, sometimes less, is more than enough, especially with a good non-stick pan or air fryer.
Stop deep frying as a daily habit. Grill it. Steam it. Bake it.
These methods preserve the flavour and nutrients of your food without loading it with fat your body does not need.
Watch your portions. Not starvation portions.
Just portions that match what your body actually requires and not what your eyes or your emotions are asking for in that moment.
Fix what goes into your body and you fix the foundation that everything else is built on.
That is the first real step to sustainable weight loss.
Not punishment. Not extremes. Just better habits, repeated consistently. 💛
